Free consultation on hive placement & hives per acre
Our industry experts are ready and able to offer free orchard consultation to help determine the ideal placement and number of hives to offer the best ROI for you as a grower. We work hard to balance ensuring you have excellent pollination, while saving you as much money as possible.
Hive price reduction for more hives per drop
When we work together to to increase efficiencies, we share our cost savings with you. In our research with growers, we've found that with strategic placement, putting up to 56 hives in a single drop does not lower the yield. It saves us time placing more than our standard 16 hives per drop. So, when we are permitted to place 32 hives per drop, we offer a $.50 per hive discount, and a $1 per hive discount when we place 56 per drop.
Pre-placement inspection report
Our goal is complete transparency, and ensuring the highest possible confidence. Issues and problem can always occur when dealing with live plants and animals, but we work hard to minimize the risk by conducting impartial, pre-placement inspections with all of our beekeepers 1-2 months before arrival. These results are passed on to you in advance. A second inspection, also at no charge, can be conducted by us after the hives are placed in the orchard if requested.
Financing options for payment
We understand that cash flow is always an issue in any business. That's why we've taken an industry first step, and are offering a deferred payment until after harvest on 50% of your pollination bill. To cover the financing, we do ask for an assessment on the almond crop, and payment by October 1st. The cost is an additional $5 per hive on the total hives placed in your orchard. This is to cover our financing costs, and can be offset completely by some of our other programs that reduce your price by $5 per hive.
Hive price reduction for reduced hive strength
We understand your budget and hive strength needs vary. We offer a variety of hive strengths, at a variety of prices. If you are interested in hives as low as $170ea, let us know and we can discuss our current, more inexpensive options.
Hive price reduction for early payment!!
Beekeepers often incur up to $40 per hive in cost just to get their bees to California and placed into orchards, and up to $220 per hive just to keep them strong enough to pollinate almonds. As a result, it is often incredibly helpful for them to have some early cash flow. To help our beekeepers, we offer a $5 discount per hive for growers who are able pay 25% of their invoice by January 10th, 50% upon placement of the bees, and the final 25% when the bees are picked up.
Free during bloom hive inspection!
We understand that quality bees are needed to properly pollinate your almond crop. We are also aware that quality issues are a common concern for growers. To address this, we offer a free inspection report for any hives that we place. We will conduct the inspection per industry standards, after the hives have been placed in your orchard. If any issues are discovered, they will be immediately resolved. The inspection report will be shared with all parties.
Hive theft insurance
Hive theft in the central valley is common. Many brokers write into their contracts in fine print that you must reimburse beekeepers if any hives are stolen. However, we know this can be a huge burden on growers. So, we've taken an industry first step & include free hive theft insurance for all hives we place or manage. If the hives are stolen in the first half of the bloom period, and enough were stolen to impact the pollination of your crop, we will work to find replacements at no additional charge. If they are stolen in the last half the bloom, it is very difficult to find bees. However, we can work together, and do our best to find replacements at the normal pollination fee. We also tag hives with hidden GPS sensors to help track down any hives that were stolen.
Customer Referral Bonus
We offer a referral commission to all growers how refer us to other growers. When we sign up a new grower who let us know they were referred by you, we'll give you $3 for every hive they rent the first year! You don't have to be a grower, or a customer of DCP to get the commission!
